This is it, the start of the Boombox residency. AJ Sachs and I took the front room of Midtown Barfly and went back to back for an hour. Alexander Hernandez and Rich Soto took the main room with high energy euro anthem house bangers.
At that time AJ Sachs and I had an all vinyl residency at Records on Broadway in Sacramento, CA. Every Sunday we would bring out 8 deejays always closing the event with house parties. Alexander Hernandez approached us with Boombox. Since we had no 90s dance music in the 132 BPM range as Alexander Hernandez requested, we said we would augment with a 90s vs Now format. Hernandez and, later, Rich Soto, would take care of the 90s. AJ Sachs and I would take care of the Now.
Alexander Hernandez, AJ Sachs and I met at Rich Sotos house and went through our music. It was a great time of musical exploration and cooperative deejay performance. This reflects musical experience AJ Sachs and I were pulsating through Sacramento's music dance scene at the time. February 4th, 2016.
